On February 3–4, 2025, the PHOENIX project officially launched with a two-day kick-off meeting held in Milan and hosted by the coordinating institution, Politecnico di Milano.

PHOENIX is  a Horizon Europe-funded research project that aims to develop next-generation, human-based Organ-on-Chip (OoC) platforms, with a specific focus on neuro-muscular and cardiac models. By integrating advanced engineering and biological approaches, the project seeks to improve the in vitro modeling of complex diseases and reduce reliance on animal testing.

During the meeting, all partners gathered to discuss the project’s scientific and technological roadmap, outlining key innovations and collaborative strategies that will drive PHOENIX forward over the next four years. The discussions highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the project and the potential impact of its outcomes on biomedical research and healthcare.

Bringing together leading academic institutions, SMEs, and industry partners from across Europe, PHOENIX is poised to accelerate drug development and enhance patient care through innovative OoC technologies.

Stay tuned for future updates on our progress and events!
